Photography Class - Instructor Jeff Struthers

Jeff, a professional photographer, showcases his work at his gallery on Main Street in Elizabeth, Colorado. In his photography class, he covers fundamental lighting principles, camera controls and functions, lens selection, and file formats (RAW versus JPG). Jeff will discuss optimal lighting for landscape and architectural photography. He will present prints to illustrate the sensor resolution (megapixels) and dynamic range of contemporary digital cameras. Camera focusing and metering modes will be discussed, along with shutter speed, aperture, and ISO relationships. Jeff will provide a segment on portrait photography, covering loop, buttery, split, and Rembrandt lighting techniques and their appropriate applications. He will utilize an inexpensive bounce reflector to demonstrate how to execute these lighting techniques outdoors. If you have inquiries regarding a specific function, mode, setting, button, or dial on your camera, please bring it to the class.
